Did you know the FDA recommends acupuncture for pain management?

Why? Because the research shows it works and the patients feel positive results.

The American College of Physicians also has guidelines to prescribe acupuncture before opioids. But did Doctors get the message?

I'm usually not a fan of blood letting, mostly because its gross, but sometimes the results are incredible and its clinically necessary.

I had a patient with 4 months of severe scapular shoulder pain (shoulder blade). He tried chiropractic, massage and stretching with no relief at all. After 2 sessions of acupuncture and cupping, he had about 30% relief. Great, but not good enough.

That is when I discovered he had a small nodule or hard cyst in the region. So we surrounded it and punctured it with acupuncture needles, then put on this one fire cup, which creates suction and pulls blood and toxins to the surface.

I checked in with the patient a few days later. The pain was 100% gone.

Moral of the story: you never know what is going to work and don't discount a therapy used for thousands of years successfully because you have been programmed to think its, "not scientific".
